What is Traditional Chinese Medicine? |
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been practiced for thousands of years. It focuses on creating balance and movement within the body to prevent disharmony, and subsequently disease. A primary way to achieve this is to look at the flow of Qi (or energy) and blood.
Qi is the vital life force of your body. If you are healthy, your qi moves in a smooth and fluid manner throughout your meridians (specific energy pathways). It is when qi gets disrupted or stuck you will notice a change in your health. This can occur due to emotional, physical, or mental stress, or even an underlying illness. TCM works to ensure the free flow of qi and blood to promote overall health and wellness. Acupuncture is just one of the many facets of TCM. |
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of sterile, single-use needles into specific locations on your body. It is through these needles we are able to directly access and regulate your qi. This allows us to harmonize your body, mind, and spirit by encouraging the body’s ability for introspection and self-healing.
What can Acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture can benefit many conditions, both acute and chronic. It can also be used as a preventative medicine to keep the body healthy and balanced. Here are just a few of the many conditions acupuncture is effective in treating:
